Mi Sol, Mi Esperanza y Mi Fe......
Valentine's Day is coming and you can never go wrong with chocolate. Chocolate cake that is moist and the frosting made with whipped cream and more chocolate is almost too divine.......Add some strawberries and everyone is happy. I suggest more strawberries, covered in chocolate, some champagne, few red roses, some good music and love will be all around......
Chocolate Heart Cake
Cake
150ml milk
1 tablespoon butter
1 tablespoon vanilla extract
3 large eggs
200g white sugar
175g flour
3 tablespoons good quality cocoa
1 teaspoon baking soda
Dark chocolate cream
200 g dark chocolate
400 ml whipping cream (35%)
100 g butter
Ganache
150ml whipped cream
150 dark chocolate
1 tablespoon honey
Preheat the oven to 170C/350F
Mix together the flour, soda and cocoa. Set aside.
In a small pot warm milk with butter until it melts and add vanilla.
In another bowl beat together eggs with sugar until fluffy. Add the milk mixture and mix in. Add dry ingredients in three additions mixing all the time to incorporate all the ingredients.
Bake the cake in a cake tin (23 cm) for about 40 min. Check with a knife or toothpick and take out if it comes out clean.
In the meantime melt dark chocolate, butter and whipping cream until smooth. Use a small pot and make sure your heat is very low and you stir all the time to incorporate everything until smooth. Place in the fridge for about half an hour until it thickens, then it will be ready to spread.
Cut the cake in half, spread the cream, cover with the top.
In the meantime prepare the ganache by melting all the ingredients together and after it cools, spread it on top of the cake. Cover with sliced strawberries.
