On Love And Friendship With Brownies and First BBQ

Brownies......

More Brownies.....

And Adele......

Adele "Don't You Remember"

Adele, in the end I fell in love. For some reason I try to stay away from over-popular, but in the end I realize that there is a reason to this madness such as being incredibly good. Happened to me with The Girl With The Dragon Tatoo and I read it in the end and loved it! And it happened to me with Adele.

Of course, there is no one in the world who can't relate to her songs. We all were hurt, we all hurt someone. And we wish we could forget it all, leave behind, erase....but once in a while it all comes back to us and we keep on thinking what would happen if it all worked out differently, what our lives would be like. In the end these are lessons that we have learnt, that make us stronger and show us who our real friends are. Real friends are hard to come by and it does not matter where we are, we are always lonely with ourselves on some level. We change as our lives change and sometimes we need to move on to the new that awaits us.

Lets's be good with ourselves and try to make our friends happy, try to accept people who are not perfect. Because who is?

Love is accepting someone for who they are and not who we want them to be.

Love is the smile of a child, curiosity in its eyes and trust.

Love is forgiveness and acceptance. Following our dreams and dreaming them.

Love is in the meal, prepared for my family and friends. In every bite you take, I prepared for you, my love, my friend.

And what does not make you fall in love but this amazing brownie. They are moist inside, with a little bit of a crust on the outside. They will melt as you bite into them and you will never be able to let them go.

The Best Brownie Recipe

Nigel Slater

300g soft brown sugar
250g butter
250g chocolate (70 per cent cocoa solids)
3 large eggs plus 1 extra egg yolk
60g flour
60g finest quality cocoa powder
½ tsp baking powder
A 23x23cm, preferably non-stick, or a small roasting tin

Preheat the oven to 350F.

Beat the sugar with butter until fluffy and add eggs one at a time. Put aside 50g of the chocolate and break into pieces. Melt the rest of the chocolate in a bowl suspended over a pot with boiling water.

Mix the flour with baking powder and cocoa powder.

Add the melted chocolate and flour mixture to the eggs with butter, incorporate and in the end add the  chocolate pieces.

Do not over mix.

Scrape the rest into the tin and bake for about 30 min.

I see only one problem with this recipe....you will probably eat more than intended :)

We also had a first bbq last Sunday. I made these burgers with ground beef, jalapeƱos, cilantro, garlic, red pepper and onion.

Sweet potato fries with honey-curry sauce, grilled peppers and grilled green onions as well as choriqueso- chorizo with cheese, to eat with some tortillas.
